A pair of X chromosomes makes for the maximum risk of poverty in Germany. Women earn less, work part-time, raise children… And at the end of their working lives are often left with old-age benefits barely sufficient for survival.
This is a film about a social scandal, about a problem that concerns all generations: German women who were housewives during the Sixties boom years, but even more so their daughters and granddaughters. Can it really be true – have our politicians knowingly been passing laws, for decades, that set a poverty trap for German women?
