“Life is a pony farm” is the German equivalent of “life is a picnic.” And it certainly is for Sabine, Gunter and daughter Wiebke, who operate an Icelandic horse farm in the Thuringian Forest foothills. The stars of their pony farm, thirteen Icelandic horses, melt the hearts of visitors, big and small. Each spring marks the beginning of the most exciting and strenuous time of the year, the run-up to the big riding arena festival. During the main school break, they all join forces to make pony fans’ summer vacation dreams come true. And in the autumn, long awaited by Wiebke, mare Perla arrives from Iceland. In our three-parter, we show how super a riding vacation can be and what the temporary pony paradise looks like from the inside.
